Comfy Sweater

Top: Target, Sweater: Maurices, Jeans: Silver, Boots: Walmart

I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and body aches. I thought maybe if I ignored it it would go away, but no.

Ugh. I just want to lay in bed and watch episodes of Dr. Quinn. Call me sentimental, but I kind of love that show. It’s comfort tv for me. Also, I kind of want to be Dr. Mike.

Recipe: Crabmeat Rangoons

I think these are better than any rangoons I’ve ever had in a restaurant.

First mix together in a bowl One package of Cream Cheese and One package of Imitation Crab.  Make your life a little easier by softening the cream cheese first. Ialso like to add a little ginger and some pepper.

You can buy Wanton Wrappers in the ethnic food section

at any grocery store.

Put a dab of the crab/cream cheese mixture right in the middle of

the wanton.

.

Fold the wrapper in half crosswise over the filling to make a triangle.

Then fold the two ends of the triangle in to make a shape like this.

.

.

.

.

.

Heat some Vegetable Oil in a skillet.  I think I used about a 1/4 inch of oil.
Fry the rangoons in the oil one side at a time.

Flip them over when they turn golden brown. It generally takes a couple of minutes per side.  To be honest, I’ve never timed it, I just stand over the skillet and watch them.

.

.

.

Drain on paper towel. Serve warm!

Among the Wood Violets

Top: Old Navy, Belt: Borrowed (I think it’s from MaCandis),  Jacket: Forever 21, Bag: MaCandis

I love Old Navy clearance racks. Everything is marked down to like $2 or $3 and I know exactly what sizes I wear from Old Navy so I can just grab and I don’t have to use the fitting rooms.  I really dislike fitting rooms.  Anyway.

Aren’t the wood violets beautiful?

In Which I Do Not Climb a Tree

Sweater: Old Navy, Scarf: Maurices, Shoes: Kohl’s, Bag: MaCandis

Yeah, so I don’t really climb trees. This is as close as I get. And I almost fell “out” of this one.  I’m not even kidding.  My feet kept slipping and I almost landed on my back. You can ask Susie. She was there and she kept saying “If you’re uncomfortable we can go somewhere else” because she knows I don’t like trees.  I mean, I like trees, just not climbing them. Or, climbing anything actually.

Heights and I don’t get along.  We’re not even on speaking terms.

And yes, I realize that standing on the root of a tree does not really qualify as anything close to “climbing.” Someday I may step up into that little “Y” in the tree that’s about 18 inches off the ground. I doubt it but you never know. Baby steps. Baby steps.
